The UAE’s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, in collaboration with the National Program for Artificial Intelligence and the National Program for Coders, concluded the UAE AI Camp activities. The camp attracted more than 8,000 participants, aiming to develop their digital skills, explore the digital world, and deepen their understanding of future fields. This initiative was undertaken in partnership with a group of over 30 entities and organizations from the government, private sector, and international companies specializing in artificial intelligence and coding.
The UAE AI summer camp covered more than 70 topics, addressing a wide range of societal groups, including children, school and university students, entrepreneurs, developers, coding experts, individuals interested in artificial intelligence, and those with a keen interest in digital fields. The topics covered six cutting-edge themes: web development and robotics, digital entrepreneurship and career planning, generative artificial intelligence, online safety and cybersecurity, blockchain and cryptocurrency, and virtual and augmented reality through interactive workshops, webinars, and deep dialogues in the field of artificial intelligence.
The AI summer camp provided participants with the opportunity to delve deeper into various digital fields including web development and robotics, digital entrepreneurship and career planning, generative artificial intelligence, online safety and cybersecurity, blockchain and cryptocurrency, and virtual and augmented reality through interactive workshops, webinars, and deep dialogues in the field of artificial intelligence.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, emphasized that the future of our digital world depends on the capabilities of the youth. Al Olama pointed out the number of registrations in the UAE AI Camp for both physical and virtual activities, reflecting society’s growing awareness of the importance of acquiring digital skills. This collective effort signifies a significant stride, not only in shaping our present but also in preparing for future opportunities and challenges.
He said that the UAE AI Camp was featured this year for its exploration of new technologies like generative AI, in line with the goals of the UAE government that focus on keeping pace with new technologies, developing youth and empowering them with digital tools to create a better digital future.
The UAE AI Camp succeeded in hosting interactive workshops with the participation of various government entities, private sector companies, and international organizations. Partners included Cyber Security Council, Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), DP World, Dubai Chambers, Road and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Cyber Innovation Park, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), coding ambassadors, one of the Coders HQ initiatives, Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre, Technology Innovation Institute, Ajman X, Fujairah Police GHQ, Microsoft, AWS, Huawei, Careem, Dell Technologies, Stripe, Accenture, Le Wagon, Jeel code, VR Academi, Bnb, Mathworks, University of Birmingham Dubai, Cybernet , G42, 42, Women in AI, Intel, QUAE, Marses robotic systems and others.
The UAE AI Camp focused on various aspects, including developing the participants’ skills, enhancing communication with experts in the field of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, and delving deeper into areas such as generative artificial intelligence, deep learning, and machine learning. The camp also included meetings that brought together individuals interested in computing, along with virtual gatherings to share successful experiences and best practices within the field of artificial intelligence.
Discussions during the camp covered a wide range of topics, including the capabilities of artificial intelligence in generating and understanding content. Additionally, there were insights into the practical applications of artificial intelligence tools in our daily lives. Participants had the opportunity to learn how to create 3D designs using virtual reality technology.
The camp also featured sessions aimed at increasing awareness about the latest technologies and digital security. Challenges within the field of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies were discussed, along with strategies to enhance sustainability in alignment with the UAE’s goals for the Year of Sustainability 2023.
Over the past 5 years, the UAE AI Camp has witnessed significant participation since its launch, attracting a diverse range of attendees including school and university students, youth, entrepreneurs, and others. It has reached over 30,000 participants from various educational stages, academic backgrounds, and specialized experiences.
